The Greek sage, growing wild and potent on our olive groves in the harsh rocky conditions of Mani, differs from common sage for its more vigorous taste and fragrance. Its softy hairy leaves and lilac-colored flowers are carefully handpicked one by one and naturally dried. It is said that the Chinese preferred “the Greek sprout” to their own native product for its wide range of medicinal properties and offered three times the quantity of their best tea in exchange.

It pairs well with stew and grilled meats, seasons any type of tomato-based sauce and enhances the taste of potatoes and vegetable soups.
Sage tea can be consumed for aiding digestion after meals for its anti-spasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties or as a relaxing beverage during evening hours for its antioxidant properties.
Even a small amount is enough for great taste results. Before adding the herb to your dish or tea, rub the leaves and flowers, so that all flavors and essential oils are released.
